Monarch Madness
This weekend I have been struggling with some bug, so ebergy levels are quite low. However, I did manage to finish my Monarch Butterflies Collection so wrapped with this milestone.
The final watercolour painting for my new collection featuring Monarch Butterflies.
‘Monarch madness’
Monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus) self-introduced to New Zealand in the mid-19th century. They are famous for their bright orange and black wings, and their survival depends heavily on the introduced swan plant (Gomphocarpus physocarpus), which acts as the primary food source for their caterpillars.
Watercolour painting with acrylic pen highlights for the white on the wings. Will be framed in a white wooden frame with white mat board. 32cm x 23cm
One of a set of four paintings in this collection. See the full collection here https://www.colourblindartist.com/monarch-butterflies
