‘Built for speed’

The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is a large feline native to Africa and central Iran. Renowned as the fastest land animal on Earth, it is a marvel of evolutionary engineering, capable of reaching blistering speeds between 93 and 112 km/h (58–70 mph) in just three seconds. Unlike most big cats, cheetahs cannot roar; instead, they communicate through a unique repertoire of purrs, chirps, and growls.
