Most of my artwork starts with a sketch. However, sometimes the sketch is the artwork.
The Boat Shed
One of Wellington's iconic landmarks, which sits in the centre of the CBD on the harbour’s edge.
A venue for many corporate functions as well as Birthdays and Weddings.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
A few weeks ago I ran into a car show outside Mitre10 on the Kapiti Coast. I took a large number of photos for possible art projects, and today one of those has been completed.
I also ordered a number of presentation folders but stuffed up the order: instead of getting folders for 8x10 artworks, they are 8x10 but only have a 5x7 window. Great for photos but tricky for an artist. So my challenge was to draw this really cool Chev but make it small enough to fit the presentation folder.

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is an iconic American classic car. As the pinnacle of the "Tri-Five" series (1955–1957), it featured jet-age styling, distinct rear tail fins, and gold anodized trim. Original prices ranged from roughly $2,173 to $2,900.

Wellington Railway Station
Located at 2 Bunny Street, Pipitea, serves as the primary public transport hub for New Zealand's capital city. As the busiest rail terminus in the country, it serves as the southern gateway for the North Island Main Trunk line, linking urban commuters and long-distance travellers alike.

AC Cobra
The AC Cobra is a famous British-American sports car created by putting a powerful Ford V8 engine into a lightweight AC Ace frame. Designed with driver Carroll Shelby in the 1960s, it became a fast racing legend and one of the most copied cars ever made.

The Snapper
This sketch was drawn for my close friend and ex-brother-in-law. Michael is a keen fisherman and Snapper is one of his favourite species to catch and eat.

The 1959 Chevrolet Corvette is a first-generation (C1) classic American sports car with a 283 cubic-inch V8 engine. It had an original base price of $3,875 and a production run of 9,670 units. It featured cleaner body styling than the 1958 model, stripping away hood louvres and trunk spears

Band Rotunda, Wellington NZ
The Oriental Bay Band Rotunda (also known as the Wellington Pavilion) is a historic landmark located prominently at 245 Oriental Parade along the waterfront. Built originally in 1937 as a nautical, Art Deco-style bathing pavilion, the structure has long been a visual anchor for Wellington's "Riviera". It is currently undergoing a massive multimillion-dollar earthquake strengthening and redevelopment project

VW Golf GTI
The Volkswagen Golf Mk1 GTI, launched in 1976, is widely celebrated as the car that popularized the "hot hatch". Weighing only about 840–860 kg, it paired a lightweight, practical body penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro with a punchy fuel-injected engine to deliver zippy, nimble performance.

Repeat message
The pīwakawaka (also known as the New Zealand fantail) is one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most recognizable and beloved native birds. Belonging to the scientific genus Rhipidura fuliginosa, these tiny, energetic insectivores are famous for their acrobatic flight patterns and fearless curiosity around humans.
Spiritual Messenger: Depending on the iwi (tribe) and context, a pīwakawaka entering a home can be interpreted as a messenger from the spirit world. For some, it is seen as a warning or a sign of an impending death in the family; for others, it is viewed as a comforting visit from a deceased loved one or a protective guardian. The later being my preferred message.
In this sketch the message is so important my ancestors have sent it twice.

1965 Pontiac GTO
The 1965 Pontiac GTO is widely celebrated as the vehicle that solidified the American muscle car boom, refining the formula introduced by Pontiac the previous year. For its second model year, the GTO received a major styling overhaul and significant performance upgrades, cementing its status as an automotive icon.

The King is present
There is something majestic about the male Lion. We all know the ladies are the real deal and do a lot of the hunting, providing and protecting of their young. But the King of the pride is there for the big events.

1963 Daimler Saloon
In 1963, Daimler offered two distinct luxury saloons: the compact, highly popular Daimler 2.5-Litre V8 Saloon (later known as the V8 250) and the much larger, ultra-luxury Daimler Majestic Major (DQ450).
Both cars featured Daimler's legendary hemispherical V8 engines—designed by Edward Turner—installed in body styles shared with, or evolved during, the Jaguar takeover era.
